Support Our Emory Ready Campus

CEPAR participates in preparedness programming all year with signature events such as the National Preparedness Month (September), Safety Fair (October), and a variety of other activities that promote preparedness education. Additionally, CEPAR facilitates community programs focused on promoting campus preparedness and resiliency for current Emory students, faculty, and staff members.

CEPAR Ambassador Program

The CEPAR Ambassador program engages Emory students in campus preparedness as ambassadors for the CEPAR office, selecting them to serve as liaisons between our office and the Emory community. Ambassadors attend monthly meetings, undergo training, and promote preparedness on campus.

Emory University Community Emergency Response Team

The mission of the Community Emergency Response Team is to educate the Emory community on hazards that may occur and train volunteers in basic disaster preparedness and response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, basic medical operations, and disaster psychology. Training includes a disaster simulation to test volunteers’ knowledge and skills. The knowledge and skills gained from undergoing this training can be highly beneficial when emergencies occur and immediate assistance from first responders is not available.

Information about how to join the Community Emergency Response Team will be available on the CEPAR website by winter 2024.

Emory University Medical Reserve Corps

The Medical Reserve Corps supports Emory’s public health and health preparedness and response through participation in education, drills and exercises, workforce augmentation, and advocacy. Volunteer membership is open to all current Emory University students, faculty, and staff, including currently employed Emory Healthcare staff. Non-medical and medical backgrounds are welcome.

Information about how to join the Medical Reserve Corps will be available on the CEPAR website by winter 2024.
